Time for a New Years' photo bomb!

I include this photo of Voochko for two reasons: 1) it's cute and 2) it's historically significant. Voochko was the mascot of the 1984 Winter Olympics at Sarajevo, in what was then Yugoslavia.

I watched the '84 Olympics avidly as a kid, and I used my allowance to buy a Voochko stuffed animal as soon as I could. (Missed out getting Sam the Eagle from the '84 Summer Olympics in LA though.) Today, these are collectors' items, so from an adult standpoint there's that. Considering all the moves I've undergone since 1984, he's held up pretty well.

Voochko is also somewhat tragic, as most of the Sarajevo facilities--including a big mural of Voochko--were destroyed in the Bosnian wars of the 1990s.
