Description
Introducing a new member of the Sentinel Corps team, though not quite what you would expect. This is Kozo, a highly advanced robot created by Takumi, and the team's 'caretaker' you could say. Kozo's model is called a TANUKI, which stands for "Technological Assistant for Nurturing Kids and Infants". It was originally intended to assist teachers and staff at schools and daycares with overseeing the children, but due to how advanced it was, mass production would've been too expensive for Cosmic Creations, so Takumi was forced to downgrade them and have them serve more as advanced toys. However, Takumi did keep the original prototype for himself, even giving it a name, Kozo, based off a tanuki character from a story his mother used to read to him when he was little. Over time, Takumi began tinkering with Kozo, upgrading him bit by bit, giving him a multitude of functions, which we'll discuss in a bit. Eventually, Takumi installed artificial intelligence into Kozo, giving him a much higher level of cognitive thinking than the rest of the TANUKI models, even giving him a personality. Once the story events unfolded and the Sentinel Corps was formed, Takumi found a new use for Kozo, as the team's personal caretaker in the Sentinel Corps HQ, as well as friendly companion to talk to if needed. Some of the members instantly took a liking to him, such as Atomic Girl, Aurora, and even A-Game. Others saw him as a little annoying at first, but eventually grew to like him. While Kozo may be a non combatant, the services he provides for the team, as well as his dedication to assisting the team with their daily tasks, has certainly made him a valued member of the team, despite only being a robot companion.
While all the other TANUKI models are essentially just advanced toys, Kozo is unique. After the many upgrades Takumi installed in him, Kozo is capable of doing so many functions around the headquarters. He is wirelessly linked to several systems in the HQ, such as cleaning bots, kitchen appliances, and entertainment systems. This allows him to keep the headquarters clean and turn on electronics and and appliances without physically touching them (think of him as a highly advanced Alexa), though that's not to say he doesn't get hands-on if needed. His assists each member of the Sentinel Corps in a variety of ways, such as helping Devil Cat with her daily workout session, by keeping track of her reps and her cardio time. Or assisting his creator Takumi in his lab by tracking down parts and tools he needs. Whatever the need, Kozo is always willing to help, and not just in menial tasks. Takumi also installed several subroutines in his system, such as counseling and companionship. While not quite as effective as a trained counselor, such as Aurora, Kozo can implement basic interactions to calm and comfort distressed members, almost making it seem like they were talking to another human. Kozo can also speak in numerous languages, make phone calls, play music, check emails, and record anything he sees or hears and play it back when needed. While most of these features aren't exactly important, he does have one program that is locked. In case of an emergency, Takumi installed a feature that allows Kozo to sync with the HQ's more important systems, such as the security system, hazard systems, and even the Sentinel Corps database. With this, he can seal off unsafe areas of the base or patch into surveillance systems. However, this program can only be unlocked voice recognition, where Takumi says a code phrase that unlocks the program. However, this has yet to be used, and for the most part, Kozo has simply been a loveable and helpful companion bot for the Sentinel Corps team.
