Description
As the Shield of Rome, Bellona's duty is to defend the New Roman Empire and her people from both foreign and domestic threats, though she's not alone in this task. The imperial military, as well her squadmates in the Pantheon, also protect the empire's borders, and they do so intensely. While all imperial borders are actively patrolled, the Northwestern border is heavily patrolled due to it being next to the empire's long time enemy the Italian Republic. Ever since WWII, these two nations have been in an intense standoff. With the empire's advanced technology, and the republic's allies, neither were willing to make the first move and start a full scale war. However, once in a while, skirmishes break out between border patrols, and it's usually up to Bellona to arrive and end the conflict before it escalates any further. While Bellona is willing to use lethal force if absolutely necessary, a show of strength is usually enough to send Italian troops running. While Bellona is steadfast loyal to the imperial cause, she also greatly values her role as a hero, and a symbol of imperial justice, and will not take anyone's life unless forced to. Some foolishly try to take her down during the skirmish, but quickly realize just how outmatched they are against someone like Bellona, who is strong enough to lift a tank over her head with relative ease. Once the conflict is over, it's up to the politicians to de-escalate the situation before things get out of hand. As for Bellona, she merely returns to her duty of protecting Rome, while being praised by the imperial soldiers who watched her in action, chanting the words "Scudo di Roma!" which means "Shield of Rome!" in Italian, honored to have such a powerful, and loyal hero on their side.
