Subaru was happy with his life as Roswaal's butler as he barely had to do any work and never getting punished, one day Ram said to Subaru that he is needed by Roswaal. Subaru went to the living room to find Roswaal at a sluggish speed. When he got there Roswaal explained something very shocking to him, he was being demoted to a maid due to his lack of effort. Subaru tried to argue that he was sorry but Roswaal had already made his decision, Roswaal pulled out a grimoire and started chanting a spell. Subaru fainted to the floor and the transformation began, first his hair lengthened and changed colour to blue then he shrank by a few inches after that his face reshaped to look cuter like Ram and his chest expanded. After the transformation was complete Roswaal ordered Ram to bring Subaru who will now be called Rem to her room and get her ready to work.

When Rem woke up in a maid outfit and with the looks of a girl he was shocked to say the least, she heard someone shout "Rem get out of bed and get to work" Rem bounced out of bed and rushed outside and started cleaning vigorously she tried to resist but at this point it was obvious her body was under someone else's control and she couldn't rebel. After Rem finished cleaning she went to the kitchen to start making food, when she was done she carried the food into the dining room and served everyone their meal. Rem pouted in anger while watching everyone eat, she was so annoyed that she had no choice but to follow orders and act with etiquette. Roswaal spoke saying that Rem got her punishment and that he expects complete loyalty and obedience unlike before, Rem said "Yes Master Roswaal I will do anything and everything for you as long as you say so" Rem couldn't even control her speech she felt trapped and isolated on the inside. "Good girl I am glad you are so complient" Roswaal replied. From that point onward Rem would be tirelessly following orders and doing chores with no way of reaching out for help or escape, she truly was a good submissive maid maybe Subaru should of been a little bit less lazy.
