Mariya smiles as they walk out of the store, holding two bags of new clothes and accessories.

"Mariya, did you really need to buy all that?" Toshiro asks, walking out behind her.

"Probably not, but I felt like splurging, I haven't in a while." she replies.

He sighs, coming to stand beside her. She grins, trying to take hold of his hand, which he pulls away to her surprise.

"H-Hey, why did you-" she starts.

"We're in plain sight, what if Kuchiki or Cree are around? Our secret will be out." Toshiro interrupts.

She groans.

"Aww, c'mon. We're alone, no one will see us together." Mariya answers.

"But there's always the chance we could be." he replies.

"Fine...forget it." she trails, walking on.

He blinks.

"H-Hey, Mariya." Toshiro stutters, following after her.

She doesn't respond, even when he grabs her wrist, not looking at him.

"Mariya-" he starts.

"Some boyfriend you are..." she mumbles, only loud enough for him to hear.

His eyes widen.

"...Mariya."

"Hey, lover boy!"

Mariya and Toshiro turn in surprise to see a few boys walking towards them, looking maybe about 17. The front boy is hooded, a shady type of figure.

"You shouldn't be touchin' a pretty gal like she's your's, when obviously she doesn't want you." the front boy comments, stepping forward.

Toshiro steps back, guarding Mariya.

"Hey, hey, what part of don't touch don't you get-"

"-I'm not trying to do anything, just leave my girlfriend and I alone." Toshiro interrupts.

Mariya blinks in surprise.

"Toshiro.." she trails.

"Girlfriend, eh? If that's so, treat her like one." the boy replies, walking closer, brushing Mariya's cheek with his hand, "Or I may just pick her up."

Toshiro glares at him, pushing his hand away, and turning. Before Mariya knows what's happening, Toshiro takes her hand, pulling her into him. She blushes slightly as he takes hold of her shoulder, keeping her close as they walk off. After a moment, she looks up at him, a look of slight jealousy as his expression.

"T-Toshiro-" she starts.

"Just ignore them." Toshiro says, stuffing his other hand in his jacket pocket.

She stares at him for a moment, before she smiles.

"Alright...If you do something for me." she replies.

He blinks in surprise.

"Wh-What?" he asks.

"Let me do this." Mariya says, taking a his arm, holding it tight as she rests her head on his shoulder.

Immediately, his cheeks redden, not used yet to her acting all romantic. Though flustered, he does nothing to stop her, only running his free hand through his hair. Soon, he gives out a sigh. Her eyes widen slightly as he leans over, kissing her forehead.

Now both redden, he sighs again, putting his hand back in his pocket.

"Alright, just keep away from guys like that." he answers.

She giggles.

"Can do!" she laughs, not noticing him grin as they continue down the road.
