Description
So I'm still drawing these characters. I'd like to draw other things, but I've been so busy and deadish in this time that motivation and ideas are hard to come by. We'll see if I finish them up.I'm not too much a fan of high school AU, but it can be fun sometimes. The only question is that if the jail is converted into a school, and if the staff become students (as they usually do in others' fanart like this), who teaches everyone? Truly must be a school of chaos. Figure the Doctor will probably stay an adult, since he seems a little older than the rest of the staff. Lunch ladies could stay the same too. Inmates seem like they'd be the delinquent-type schoolboys and schoolgirls, and the robots? Still need to think.
Here's a little rundown of the inspirations, left to right:
Lord Stingray: I actually hate drawing that guy 'cause of his helmet, but I figured he'd give off more of a delinquent image since he's supposed to be a supervillain. His design could change a little, not too in love with it right now.
The Twins: Didn't put them in uniform because I couldn't think of a design, but since they don't like "real work", they wouldn't be the types to go around wearing the apparel. Sportswear and bloomers seemed more their style. Though I think if they did have to disguise themselves as students, they'd probably wear blazer/slacks combos, wear nerdy glasses, and have their hair slicked.
The Warden: A basic Western-style blazer uniform seemed about right, to reference his original tailcoat look. It'd be a primarily purple outfit, but maybe in different shades.
Bruce: He's next to Warden because I just drew by the seat of my pants here (chronologically from right to left). At first I thought of a more militaristic uniform to contrast Alice and highlight his superiority complex, but the shirt and slacks refer back to his canon uniform a little better. I looked at "Urusei Yatsura" in particular for the basic look, but it'll probably be colored in khaki shades.
Alice: Basically Sakura Oogami from "Danganronpa", because that's all over Tumblr and everywhere lately, and both have hardcore muscles. I thought of giving her a traditional sailor uniform to contrast her roughness versus what's "traditionally" pretty, but the Sakura look prevailed.
The Mistress: Initial look was inspired from "Neon Genesis Evangelion", but I added frills and other bits. She'd probably have a blazer too, but I wanted something to reference her usual outfit. The frills and flower in hair could also refer to her hippie self, though the way I drew her, she looks more like ice-queen!Mistress.
Charise: Classic sailor uniform because fans' prevailing image is "cute!" and she's drawn in a stylized cartoony manner. So a super-deformed schoolgirl look fit. No anime inspiration in particular for her, uniform was actually referenced from the Bodyline catalog.
Jared: ...well, think Shinji Ikari if he was an alcoholic and dependent on so many other addictions. Poor guy. Removed the mustache to give him more of the "pitiful schoolboy" impression.
Critique and suggestions are VERY welcome, by the way! I've been working on anatomy, but I still slip up if I get out of practice and forget my references for body proportions. Please let me know how I can improve
