Arcus generally keeps a strictly professional appearance and attitude when it comes to interaction with strangers, he is always willing to help people in need, and has often been seen going out of his way to help someone he just met. When among his peers, Arcus is generally a carefree individual who loves to crack jokes with an occasional pun when ever he can. Often tries to avoid large gatherings of any kind.

Arcus, is the adopted son of Ima, an old Hylian explorer who had found Arcus in the ruins of a small camp at Atun Valley when she was returning home to Lurelin Village. Knowing she was in no condition to make the trek to the Rito Village located in the Tabantha Region, she had decided to adopt Arcus and raise him as her own.

Arcus, enthralled by the stories told by his adopted mother, had quickly settled on becoming an explorer when he became of age. Thus he took up lessons from a retired Gerudo warrior named Eleis, on the arts of combat and how to survive off the land.

Once Arcus became of age, Eleis, his teacher had commissioned a traveling Rito to guide Arcus in crafting a set of Rito armor which he was instructed to wear on his travels. Later, his adopted mother Ima had given him the sun-shaded cloak she had worn in her travels.
With the promise to his mother and teacher that he would return every year to regal them with his travels, he set off to explore the uncharted lands beyond Hyrule's boarders.
