Though he was born and raised in Arras, Hector soon grew tired of the intellectually-focused, horribly boring schooling he was enduring in the city. As soon as his primary schooling was over, he left Arras with a rucksack of supplies, his mother’s blessing, and his father’s arbalest, a huge hunting crossbow, which Hector had become fond of. After stopping in several cities looking for work and martial training with varying success, he eventually came upon the Academy, where he settled in happily, quickly befriending most of his classmates. In his first year he discovered the battle-axe, an awe-inspiring double-bladed weapon, of which he became instantly dedicated to. Over the next three years of training at the Academy, he became immensely proficient with the weapon, able to whip the heavy blades about in a frantic, humming blur, striking with not only crushing force, but also accuracy, recovery, and rapidity, which were difficult with such an unwieldy weapon. He now, on his fourth year, looks forward to completing his training and going into service as a mercenary or professional soldier under the Academy.
