With this, I honestly wanted to downplay my Rouge's character. Rouge in my version isn't flirty, but she does have her charming side (it's still much more downplayed in comparison to canon) She's a thief on the run only looking out for herself. She joined Sonic's Freedom Fighters just to have protection from the law. She then befriends Knuckles because she feels like the other members are "obnoxiously nice" to her. And Knuckles seemed the most sane. And soon he becomes the one she trusts the most. And during her time with the Freedom Fighters, she realized good deeds are actually, well, good! So she admits to Knuckles that she's questioning her life choices.
