Unit Abilities/Specifications:
- Sensory dome on cranium
- Must rely on internal batteries or external power sources to function due to lack of an S2 Engine.
- Mechanical 'eye' mounted in the center of the Eva's face.
- Initially lacked shoulder pylons, forcing Unit-00 to carry all equipment by hand. After battle with Angel: Ramiel, shoulder pylons were added in the reconstruction process.
- Initial armour plating is composed of solid titanium-tungsten plates. After reconstruction, armour was altered to match with the standard material for Production Models; a series of composite nano-layers, with a thickness of 9,600 plates. This is less than the standard of 12,000 due to Unit-00's underwhelming physical strength.
- Head contains a blast visor that may extend and flip down from the forehead.
- Explosive bolts mounted around all major limb joints for safety.
- Equipped with a N2 charge as an emergency self-destruct after battle with Angel: Ramiel.
- Inconsistent colour scheme; original colouration was white and light orange; following the battle with Angel: Ramiel, highly damaged sections were replaced with navy blue armour.

Design Changes:
The main change here is in Unit-00's armour (the Eva itself isn't changed much). Unit-00 has a unique chest-plate, as well as lighter arm/leg pylons and a very modified head. The retractable visor is supposed to be based off of the 'brow' that Unit-00 usually has. And, as in canon, Unit-00 lacks pylons until after the fight with Ramiel; the primary difference being that not all its armour is replaced, leading to a mottled appearance.
The other main change is the introduction of differing body shapes among the Evas. Unit-00's body is lithe compared to the others, lacking in musculature and fat; after all, it is the prototype.
