Description
First off, this is a revamp of a concept I've done before . I just decided to update it, and I'm very happy with how this design turned out.As in the old picture, this is "Stage Two" of Spacegodzilla-- the version adapted to function under gravity. Its previous forms are Stage Zero-- a cloud of spore-like SG-Cells that the creature reverts to in order to survive otherwise fatal damage-- and Stage One-- the crystal-covered form used for space flight, which it originally held before arriving at Earth.
~~~
Spacegodzilla Stage Two, while looking far more like a kaiju than its earlier forms, still has a number of features that make it seem... off. This Spacegodzilla is completely incapable of vocalization, as its space-adapted body lacks a respiratory system (or any of the accompanying equipment, such as vocal chords), and its communications are based off of electromagnetic emissions instead of sound. As such, its "nostrils" act more like a snake's heat sensitive pits, and its mouth is only usable for eating or projecting its breath weapon. Additionally, all four of its limbs possess opposable thumbs, and are completely prehensile-- an asset it can easily make use of, thanks to its "levatation" ability.
While its adaptations are most evident in the change through its various Stages, Spacegodzilla's body has the ability to modify itself to an extensive degree even without changing form. This was first seen upon its entrance into Earth's orbit, where Stage One collided with a space station, and subsequently reconstructed its silicon-based components to mimic a living computer, allowing it to 'download' the data held onboard.
Spacegodzilla's creation came about as the result of a fusion between spaceborne Godzilla Cells and a colony of silicon-based extraterrestrial microorganisms, which consumed-- but were ultimately subsumed-- by the former, creating Spacegodzilla Stage Zero. Stage Zero's cells multiplied and aggregated into Stage One, which found itself drawn to Earth's orbit like a migrating bird. This ultimately led to its conflict with Godzilla, and subsequent defeat.
As of the latest records, Spacegodzilla retreated from Earth in Stage Zero after suffering near-fatal injuries, and relocated to an orbit around the moon.
Statistics: (Stage Two only)
- Height: 75 m (in default stance-- due to its graviton field, Spacegodzilla stands further upright than Godzilla)
- Length: 180 m (from snout to tail)
- Mass: estimated at around 30,000 tons (graviton field interferes with exact measurements)
Abilities:
- Body functions as living generator (higher maximum output than Godzilla's).
- Extreme adaptive and regenerative ability (modified form of Regenerator G-1).
-- Rapid metamorphosis between "Stages" (observed 0-2) based on environmental stimuli.
- Able to project and affect electromagnetic radiation and gravitational force to a limited extent (e.g. breath weapon, "levitation"/graviton field, EM communication)
- Self-contained body capable of surviving any terrestrial environment, as well as outer space.
Hopefully you find both this picture and the little "story" I wrote with it to be enjoyable!
