Description
The Dean quickly seemed horrified, "What have I thought?I'm not being all proper and prim as I ought,
See the changes your fiendish feet-tickles have wrought
How they've given me instincts I ought to have fought;
When we met up at last and you showed me your flair
I saw all the big barefeet on show in the square,
And it gave me an inkling I never would dare
My feet felt that it might be good fun to be bare;
Such a dastardly impulse I picked up from you
I felt curious urges to chuck off a shoe,
Then the other, and then let my socks be gone too
But I quashed it, for barefootin just wouldn't do;
So I fought the good fight, as I'd done all along
Yet a part of me wanted to join in the throng,
And just kick off my shoes with a barefooter's song
But I quenched the desire, feeling sure it was wrong;
When your challenge popped up, I was over the moon
For it gave me a chance that appeared like a boon,
I could barefoot and not have to alter my tune
And to all your feet-tickles I felt quite immune;
Though I took off my shoes with a show of some grief
Underneath I was feeling a wave of relief,
Though my secret enjoyment was that of a thief
I was bound and determined to keep my belief;"
As the Feathers closed in on the end of the line
Giving each of the townsmen their tickles divine,
The Dean said, "I was sure I could handle it fine
No foot-tickles could pierce this resistance of mine;
Although all of your friends here were having a ball
I was certain my barefeet weren't ticklish at all,
All you cocky assurance would falter and fall
For in tickling my feet you'd be hitting the wall;
Though my feet were delighted and thrilled to be free
I knew I'D never wriggle and giggle with glee,
And I kept my composure a wonder to see
But your tricks were so cunning you DID tickle me;"
