All at once my heart gave a victorious leap
What I'd sown with such patience I'd finally reap,
As I made all my tickles sufficiently deep
And his collared resolve would collapse in a heap;
But I felt a new caution and studied his face
For his grin disappeared and it left not a trace,
There remained much composure I had to erase
As I put the Dean's will firmly into its place;
But my touch on his soles made me feel more secure
And his total resistance I'd freely endure,
So I tickled him slowly and worked towards his cure
As the laughs of the townsmen rang lovely and pure;

"Hear the sound of that laughter, so joyful and keen
That we hear on all sides from each part of the green,
Ringing forth from each man and each foot-tickled teen
With the force of a bell, sounding clear and pristine;
All their innocent mirth and their happy delight
As you cause yourself misery here in your plight,
You can share their enjoyment as soon as you might
Once you let yourself start, you'll be laughing all night;
And the feeling you'll find sweetly honest and real
As your feet and my fingers are sealing the deal,
And your barefeet embrace what they're making you feel
And you're clearly accepting their ticklish appeal;"

Then the Dean let his eyes open wide at the shock
"Pure and innocent laughter?" he said, "what a crock,"
But his ears quickly tuned to the mirth of my flock
And I watched as he slowly began to take stock;
"There ain't noone," I countered, "with nothing to lose
But a case of depression that gave him the blues,
Now you're barefoot without the distraction of shoes
You can share their pure joy just as soon as you choose;"
As their laughter poured forth from the sturdiest men
Though he couldn't be sure of exactly just when,
I kept tickling and watching and saw it all then
As his lip began smirking and smiling again;
