LORE
Name: Jesse
Gender: Male
Trinket: Arcade Admission Ticket
Occupation: Arcade Owner
Personality: extroverted, fun-loving, supportive, helpful, caring, bit of a prankster
An arcade ticket may seem insignificant to some. An item to toss into the trash after a night of playing games and having fun with friends in that dimly lit room with old games played on brick-like gaming consoles operated with no more than a few buttons and joysticks. After that night it may hold no purpose to most.
But not to all.
To some, such a small item has a lot of meaning.
That was the case with the two NebNoms who picked exactly such an unimportant thing for their matteregg. They poured all of their love and care into it and created something beautiful.
Now the question might be 'why a ticket?'.
And that explanation is rather simple.
They started out as friends. Nothing more. Nothing less. They went to the arcade together often, enjoying the games and cheap snacks. And over time, it would be exactly that which brought them together. The arcade. An admission ticket to fun, friendship and in their case even love.
They had saved that very first ticket. The one that started them down this wonderful journey. And when they were ready. It was that exact ticket which would be the item to channel their essence into a very special matteregg.
What does such a ticket to a night at the arcade embody? What does it represent?
Brightly coloured decorations. The 8 bit sound bites and pixelated animations on old screens. Cheap food and softdrinks. Prizes. Games. And Joy.
The arcade really holds a special kind of energy.
And so did that ticket and the egg it spawned. Needless to say, that vibe would be carried by the NebNom which came from such an egg.
And that NebNom is Jesse. A fun-loving Neb who cherishes friendships and games and who enjoys the occasional plate of cheap pizza and cup of watered down cola. From the day he came into existence, Jesse knew he wanted to make all of that available to other NebNoms as well. Others should get to find that same joy as he did. And what better way to do that than to open his own arcade?
The Retro Rainbow Arcade.
A place where that old-timey fun is sparked back to life. Old games. New games. Colourful decorations and carpets. Dim lights. Cheap food. And of course. Prizes galore. All one needs to enter this Arcade is an admission ticket. One that looks exactly like the one which both Jesse and his parents cherish dearly. Dark paper and retro-rainbow coloured shiny accents printed on it.
In the arcade you can find any game you can imagine. Both old and new. Noone knows for certain how Jesse keeps up with the releases of new video games on the market nor how he keeps expanding the building itself. But even if it is a mystery, most nebs don't seem to question it. After all, it simply means more variety and more fun for them.
If somehow someone wants to play a game the Retro Rainbow Arcade does not yet have, bring it to the owners attention and return the next day. It will be there. That's a promise.
The building itself has grown significantly over the years. It is a massive structure with multiple stories. A large basement with all of the older games. A main floor with both the food court and more practical games like bowling, pool and darts. And currently it also had three top floors with newer games. Laser Tag. Trampolines. New arcade games. Computes games and Consoles. Anything your heart may desire.
Winning works the same way it does in normal arcades. You play the games, get certain scores and receive tickets for those scores. The concept is rather simple to grasp.
Prize tickets look different to Admission tickets. They are made from the same dark paper but instead of the writing being rainbow, it is simply a shiny silver print. Unless you get lucky and find one of the rare winning tickets. The writing on those is golden. So make sure to keep an eye out for special golden text.
At the Retro Rainbow Arcade you can exchange tickets not only for Prizes, but also for more plays and even food.
But of course. The Prizes are something you might want to keep an eye out for. There are some very interesting things you can win.
Small prizes are things like pens, bouncy balls, slap bracelets, keychains and more.
Medium prizes include things like stuffed animals, toys like board games, action figures.
Large Prizes could be anything from electronics and apparel to giant stuffed animals and toys like a basketball hoop or an air hockey table.
And then there are the special prizes. They are the most ticket-expensive prizes available as they require one of the rare gold tickets. And you don't know what you will get. It is a surprise. But the items in the past have ranged from a companimal egg to expensive special items and even small vehicles and the like. They seem to be worth it. But the randomness factor deters some people who would much rather get to pick a prize out for themselves. If you are daring enough and have the patience to find a gold ticket though, you might want to try your hand at a special prize from the Arcade.
So come on down to Retro Rainbow Arcade and have yourself a night of fun yourself and your friends. All you need is a ticket.
Companimal
Name: Hannibal
Species: MoneyShark
Owner: Jesse
Occupation: Arcade Coin Bank
Personality: lazy, glutton, needy
Hannibal. A name for a companimal that might suggest a large creature capable of causing destruction.
Or at least that's what you might think.
But not this Hannibal.
Hannibal the MoneyShark is Jesse's companimal and manager of funds.
Most of the day he lazes away in some corner of the arcade napping constantly. The only thing capable of getting this little guy to move is food or…well…money. He loves to gobble up all payments made to the arcade, securely storing them inside his belly. That alone is a mystery in and of itself. The stomach of this little creature seems to be something akin to a bottomless pit. He can always consume more cash and nothing will change about him.
Getting money inside is one thing. Hannibal is always happy to be fed, making this the easy part of it all.
Getting funds out on the other hand is damn near impossible. This MoneyShark only opens its jaws to his owner and even then it's always a bit of a risk for Jesse. Any other NebNom who might try to get into the arcade's savings will be faced with a zipped mouth. If they attempt to unzip it and get in through force, Hannibal will not be shy to bite them. Sharp teeth. Stay away.
He does occasionally let NebNoms other than Jesse pet him, in fact he really likes belly scratches. Just be careful to keep any loose coin away from him even when he is being affectionate. Hannibal can never get enough of that sweet, sweet cash and will not hesitate to eat up your entire wallet if you are not careful.
