A rim of clouded darknessSeems to enclose, choking tight
The moon looks to be absent
From this never-ending night.
A lonely, lovely lady
Dark hair and stunning eyes
A sleeve of life and death, drawn out
Smile takes you by surprise.
But not in this drowning twilight.
A terrible threat takes hold.
She reaches out, to draw support,
And is rewarded manifold.
Darkness against darkness
May seem a wasted fight;
Seasoned necromancer, strong,
Against vacuous light?
Her panther's claws
Leave a mark;
From the enemy, draw blood.
She make take a blow or two
Get hit by rising flood
But we all know how this ends.
She'll come through it all.
Push back receding darkness
With others who heed the call.
Take courage, brave Bug Catcher,
Like the glow worm of the soil
Inner light, hopes, wishes, dreams
Stand strong throughout your toil.
