A long time ago, before your grandparents-grandparents there lived two kids. Now these two were brother and sister. The sister was 15 years old and went by Emma and the brother was Jessie, he was 12. During their life their mom had passed away and their father had fallen ill. Due to financial problems they were unable to pay for the father's medication. So here is a story about two kids who try to get the money to save their father...
"Ugh, come on scaredy-cat!" A 15-year-old girl yelled at her little 12-year-old brother, who was trying to catch up with her.
"E-Emma wait! We can't go into the forest at night! You know I'm scared of the dark-"
"Oh hush! We're going to be fine! Didn't you hear the old man? There's treasure in these woods!" Emma says as she turns to her brother with a candle lamp in her hand.
The small fire gave enough glow for her to see the face of her brother, who was out of breath from running.
"B-but Emma, people have been going missing in these woods, and Treestalkers are said to live in these woods- "
"Treestalkers don't exist!” She butted in, “they’re just a tale told by old people to scare us kids off their property." Emma grabs her brother's hand and drags him alongside her while he tries to keep up.
"B-but-!"
"NO BUTS! Ha, you said butt. We are doing this for Daddy! Now come on! The faster we find the treasure the faster we can go home and get daddy his expensive medicine!" Emma stated with joy and confidence as they walked into the maze of trees.
After what felt like days of walking for the young boy, they came across a clearing. Their faces in aw as they walk towards a bid strong Oak Tree in the center. "THAT TREE IS SO BIG!" Exclaimed Emma. They walk down to the base of the tree. When they got close to the tree, they saw some shovels and disturbed dirt.
"Look Jessy!" Called the sister as they walked over to the tree with their dying lamp light. "It looks like someone came before us and left us the stuff to get the treasure! What was I telling you! I told you it would be worth it!" Emma said as she grabs a shovel and starts to dig. A rustling sound came from the line of trees surrounding them in the clearing. A shiver runs down his spine like cold water down his back. He questions himself on this cool spring night, “why do I feel like I'm being watched?”
A sharp scream cuts through the air like a knife through warm butter. "EMMA!" Jessy yells as he runs as fast as he can around the large tree and looks up only to drop his lamp in shock.
"E-Emma?" He looks up at his sister who appears to be hung by vines to the tree. Jessie looks around the top of the tree and to his horror and disbelief ses other people, young and old. His sister's neck snaps from the strength of the vines. Her now lifeless body swings along with the other bodies.
A flicker of light turns to a flash. Jessy's head spins around to look at what caused the flash of light. He looks over to where he had dropped the small candle onto the dry grass. Smoke and flames surrounded the boy, except for a small stone path. He ran as fast as his legs could carry him. Just barely managing to get away from the vines. He ran to where he was about ten feet from where he would be free from the fires and into the maze that was the woods.
He stops dead in his tracks to see a creature in front of him. This creature was about half as tall as the oak tree that his sister hung from. The creature had bark like skin, and over this skin, if that's what it should be called, there were great vines. But if you followed these vines with your eyes you would see at the top of its head there were antlers. Great big elk-like antlers, twisting and turning like roots. Now this creature stood on four legs but not like any dog you ever saw. You could say it was deer like for its huge antlers, but that wouldn't do justice to its great size. And its eyes were a burning green color, but it was more than fire, it burned into your soul.
The flickering of the forest fire lit up everything around him. He could see the creature in its full magnificence and size, it had to have been twenty feet high. When he gazed upon the creature he didn't feel fear, he didn't really feel anything. He just kept watching the vines move around. He followed the vines as they moved towards him, but he wouldn't make the connection. The vines wrapped around him, and for this split second he could see, feel, and understand what was going on. Then he spoke his final word; “Treestalker” into the moon lit silence.
