While their origin is discussed, Redcaps seemingly emerged as goblin mercenaries serving the Dwarves of Gmonia. From there, some goblins who had served as mercenaries or bodyguards settled among the Gmonian Dwarves, taking their lifestyles: so in the World of Aiers, a Redcap can either be a goblin living under service or among dwarves, a member of a specific mercenary military unit, or a half dwarf, half goblin individual of mixed parentage.

In the case of the illustration, is a goblin with a red cap fashioned after dwarves, under dwarven service as a mercenary.
