I told you I would draw Xerneas, too! This picture just took way more time than I ever thought. But I think I'm entitled to feel proud of the finished work. And I must say, I'm damn proud.
Xerneas is one of the most beautiful Pokemon designs to date, hands down. It's grace and majestic appearance surpasses Arceus any day. This is what I call a legendary Pokemon. This is what I would call a god Pokemon. It is true that Xerneas resembles the Deer God from Princess Mononoke a lot, but I think it does so in a good way.
There is so little known about this Pokemon, but what I think, Xerneas could represent light. Or life. It would go well with its counterpart, Yveltal, that could represent either sound or death, in contrast to Xerneas.
This was very, very educating and interesting to do. I almost lost my mind a great many times, but I'm surprised my patience allowed me to work with the same quality to the end. It was really hard to put my pen down and say "I'm done". But I think I'm done now. For real. And I really like the outcome.

This is incredibly amazing!
The smooth yet realistic tones really really intriguing yet crisp; strong enough to be a completing background, but soft enough to not draw attention away from the centrepiece, Xerneas. The whole scenario you've produced is very mysterious indeed, the mist behind Xerneas really delivers the fact that we know very little about Xerneas and all his mythology!
As for Xerneas himself, he's beautiful! Your technique made him appear cute and fluffy, yet remarkably elegant and graceful. You kept the strong colour shades he has, yet slightly softened them so they don't conflict with the rest of the picture. The horns look really fantastic too!
I personally agree with them representing axis rather than chromosomes, I don't know how anyone came up the with latter theory at all...
And yes, Xerneas certainly is one of the most amazing and beautiful Pokemon we have seen throughout all of Pokemon's history, although Cobalion is still the best in my book
Anyway, you've done an amazing job with this! It's the best piece of art on Xerneas I've ever seen!

Also, axis would make sense but there is another theory I ran into some time ago. It suggests that the new legendaries are based on Nordic mythology. I found a very neat article about it but I can't find it anymore. I don't know if Nintendo would do that, but it would be so neat since I love Nordic mythology.

Now that you mention it, these new legendaries kind of fit that theme. Chaos and order. They have that kinf of essence in them. Yveltal seems very fast and aggressive whereas Xerneas is calm and majestic.
Ah, that sucks. :/ Living on my own is great because I can spend my money as I like and no one can say anything about it. (And then I eat noodles for a month because I can't afford anything else.)

I think they're majestic and badass rather than cute. And as for that theory, I much more prefer the theory about them representing the XYZ coordinates, height and distance, or even light (Xerneas' antlers glow) and speed (Yveltal can fly pretty darn fast). The DNA logos int he game titles confuse me a bit, though. But I see no resemblance to anything biological in them.

Oh, no offense towards biology. I think it's very interesting! But I just can't see how these legendaries could be based on anything biological. It just doesn't seem to fit. with the 3D effect, the axis would be more likely. But we'll see.
