Victoria is my shiny Luxray that I caught today. Shiny Luxray is one of my favourite shinies, it's just so beautiful, so I had to get myself one. I hunted for a shiny Luxio for five days and it almost drove me insane but it was worth it. (I also caught three shiny Emolga, two Pachirisu, two Electabuzz, one Dedenne, two Helioptile and one Spiritomb during the hunt. They're all been taken care of so please don't ask me if I could give them to you, the answer is no.)At first I had no prefenrence, male or female, but then I got an idea for a male Luxray and I started wishing for one. But as I thought the Luxio turned out to be female so I had to come up with a new idea and a new name.
I named her Victoria because the male would've been called Carolus Rex after Sabaton's album/song (and a Swedish king) and I wanted to keep the theme going. Victoria comes from Sabaton's song Primo Victoria and is also the name of a Swedish queen.
I grew to like Victoria even more than I liked the idea of Carolu Rex, but I have to admit that it would be really cool to actually have both.
But I'm not gonna go back to the Emolga hell, no way. Victoria is enough for me.Victoria is Brave, has Guts and perfect IV's in HP, Sp.Def and Speed. The nature is a bit of a hindrance if I wanted to use her competitively but I think I'll train her anyway and try to have her around in a few battles. Mostly just so show off my gorgeous shiny Luxray!

How fitting that I'm listening to "King and Lionheart" while viewing this, (though, to be fair, I'm pretty much always listening to that song 
Also, apparently Brave is the best nature for a Luxray, seeing as Attack is their best stat, and Speed is their weakest, shockingly (ba-dum-tss) enough. So perhaps Victoria might be a little better competitively than you thought (then again, I'm not a competitive player, so I could be wrong XP).
You did a great job, by the way. Luxray is a definite favorite of mine (it's a storm lion. A STORM LION. That is just absolutely fantastic), I love its shiny form, and having its gijinka be a royal warrior is about as fitting as it gets.

I wouldn't say Brave is the best nature. It's alright, since it boosts attack, which is Luxray's best trait, but since it has a decent speed and in its tier it can hope to outspeed something, it definitely doesn't need any decrease in the speed department. The ideal nature would probably be Adamant, since it cuts Special Attack instead of speed, and Luxray's better of as a physical offensive Pokemon.

Shiny Luxray was my first Shiny EVER. When I found it on my pearl edition i was just Β
ItΒ΄s now on my Y-Edition along with a shiny Gigalith.

Very cool. I've only ever encountered two shinies, both were in White. The first was a female Sandile I found while grinding in the desert, and the whole time I was fighting her I was so nervous that I would kill her, but I managed to catch her without incident. The second was a male Karrablast on rt. 6 that I accidentally OHKO'd because I forgot that my Absol had Super Luck as an ability and wound up killing it with a quick attack.

I have a male shiny Luxray on Pearl. As a Shinx, he was the first shiny I ever caught using the Pokeradar chain method, so I'm pretty proud of him (even though I've caught a few more shinies that way since-- a few Geodude, a Ralts that I sent to Black version and traded for a shiny Deino, a handful of Drowzee). I don't think I'd ever try to go pro with him since he's Modest/Rivalry and Luxray aren't the greatest at Special, but I'm real happy with him as he is.

Thank you! If you want shinies you should try shiny hunting in XY. It's so much easier to find shinies in XY than in previous gens that it's ridiculous.

Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't. I think they may be a bit too easy to find. I mean, it's really cool that it's not even possible for people to find shinies (in previous gens it was so unlikely that it was nearly impossible) but tbh shinies may not be as valuable anymore. Also, since people can very easily hack Pokemon into gen 6 games and make them shiny if they wish the shiny value is decreased even more. Whether it's a good or a bad thing I'm still very happy with my Luxray.

I think I know what you meant. For me shinies never were special or never has any special value, if I caught one I was happy, but I didn't really hunt for them. I kinda don't understand people, who uses cheats and codes just to get their dreamy shiny pokemon - it kills all fun (even, when hunting for them isn't really funny, but strenuous). It's likeΒ fooling yourself.

Very cool art for both male and female. Luxray has always been one of my favorites too. Every time I played Diamond Pearl or Platinum I had one in my team. He's (I always caught male) just so awesome! And that cry of his.. so intimidating and in your face. It fits perfectly. His shiny form is so cool too. Congratulations!

Luxray is my favorite PokΓ©mon. I used one in my Platinum playthrough. A female named Kaminari after the thunder god in Japan. She was awesome! This is an amazing drawing, but I really liked the way the male one was drawn. Badassery going on there!

I wanted the Luxio so bad. Otherwise I wouldn't have done it. There are only a handful of shinies I'd be willing to hunt like this. And believe me when I say I hated all those shiny rodents. I got rid of them as soon as I could.

Well, it might take time to encounter a shiny. To maximize the encounter rate in general use your bike and have a Pokemon with Illuminate ability first in your party and you'll get more encounters and the hunting is faster. And watch a video/read/draw while you hunt because if you focus on hunting only you'll go crazy.
I traded them all for other shinies that I didn't have yet.

Yeah, there are certain things that make shiny hunting easier. Friend safari even has a higher chance of encountering a shiny so it's an ideal place for shiny hunting if the Pokemon you want is on the list.
I got some nice ones, but honestly, anything for a shiny Emolga is a treasure for me. I dislike Emolga so much.
