Description
(this takes place a few days before Christmas.)Shadow finished packing her room away.
She walked out the door, shutting it, only to run right into the last person she wanted to see.
"What do you want?"
Angel had tears streaming down his face.
"Shadow....please don't leave...."
Shadow's eyes welled up again as she stared directly into Angel's eyes.
"Give me ONE good reason why I shouldn't."
Angel looked to her and then he made a grand gesture to around him.
"Shadow, all ya friends, all ya family, we're all here. Not at Lucifer's castle. We're all together at the Happy Hotel."
Shadow raised an eyebrow.
"You done?"
Angel wiped his tears away.
"No."
Shadow was already walking past him.
She was getting ready to leave him alone in the hallway when he said:
"How do you think Luna's gonna feel when you're choosing the throne over her? Huh? Luna loves you ya know...."
He paused, and Shadow stopped walking.
She was still facing away from him as he finished his sentence.
"Just like I do......."
Shadow was facing him now as he turned away from her and started walking towards the stairs.
Angel held himself a bit as he walked away from her, but stopped completely when he heard her voice
"Angel!"
Her suitcase lay on the ground as she ran towards him at full speed.
Angel's eyes widened when she threw her arms around him and held him close.
"You finally spat it out. That's all I needed to hear."
She nuzzled her cheek to his, while Angel tried to figure out what had happened.
He put it together when she said "I forgive ya, sweetums. And to spit it out now. you've always been the love of my life."
Angel felt a slow smile spread across his face.
He had his friend back, and so much more.
