Not all evoloons are friends nor do they seek peace. Some look to harm and take what is yours. In Shinda before the regulations it was no different. Evoloons then had to develop ways to protect themselves. Gedi's first experience of this is the moment flames erupted from the pit of his stomach to protect his companion. Singed and defeated the evoloon ran off...but Gedi was far from safe.
