Description
I sit and look out and see nothing worth seeingI hear whispered secrets of hope for a new day
I see masks of contentedness on the faces of people who walk alone down the street
I see the invisible prison walls that people unknowingly encase themselves in
I mark another name on the list of people who find themselves inadequate
I see the wars that no one wants to admit are being fought
I see the depressed, dying people whose hearts keep on beating
I observe as men and women let themselves fade away, unrecognized
I observe the days pass that no one cares to count
All these – all the numb, diluted spirits, I sitting, look out upon,
See, hear, and am silent like the rest of them.
