Description
It clouds my features,Skews my countenance,
Transforms me into the beast of vengeance.
It boils my blood,
Causes me to shake,
Makes the beast rear its horrible, horned head.
It runs through the forest at night,
Feels the wind blow through its hair,
Its mission is clear,
Its resolve unquenchable.
The beast has only the thought of retribution in its head.
It fears neither pain nor death, not even failure,
Because failure will only redouble its purpose.
My hands wrap around his throat,
Sweat drips from my brow.
My salvation is at hand,
My mission is nearly complete.
He struggles in vain against my grip,
He screams, but makes no sound.
And I watch the life slowly seep from his broken body.
I return to myself,
My fingers release.
I have fulfilled my obligations.
The rage is gone, but the pain and anger remains.
I am consumed by emptiness,
And though he was the one who was strangled,
I was the one
Who suffered and died.
