Description Finally, another component done!

Behold, Shinji Ikari and Evangelion Unit 01. This'll be a part of The 3 Barons Of Hell cover I'm working on, so it's slowly coming together!

I experimented with a new coloring technique that I accidentally discovered while doing this. Do you guys think think it looks better or should I just stick to the previous look I had with Guardian Unit 00 for the 3 Barons Of Hell?

Anyways, hope it's worth of Evangelion.

Ok, got a email I can *cough* send *cough* something to?

I've seen and almost got to play this Evangelion game for the N64, but oddly enough, looked more like a dating sim from what I could tell. D: I'd love to see a actual DECENT Evangelion game where you get to fight angels and actaully EXPERIENCE the choas and goodness of a Eva going Berserk. But there's always that possibility [or hell, if I'm lucky I'll get to help make one if my luck is good enough].

I have the Death & Rebirth and the End Of Evangelion movie. I know there's suppose to be a new movie in the future [one live action and a new animated one - check my previous journal entry for the links], so I'm DROOLING my brains out in sheer excitement.

The email should be on my mainpage, but if you want, I can give it to you in a note. Just give me a second here...

Actually, the N64 one lets you play as the EVA(s) and beat the crap out of the Angels ; here, check it out: [link] . From what I'm guessing, it appears to be a button masher, but it's only the first stage, so there's room for speculation on what the rest has. If anyone wishes to give more detail, please inform us.

Also, the movie I'm referring to is called "Redeath". It was a fan made movie that became really popular w/ the American fanbase of EVA (Mortal Kombat between Pikachu and Ryo-ohki? Yes please! ). You can check out the first part of it here: [link] . Just be sure to check the other parts as well. It's pretty funny.

Some otaku . Ok, I was just kidding , I didn't hear about the new animated movie coming out (though everyone has heard of the live-action; heck, I made a fancomic devoted to EVA just after hearing about that news (sadly, it's got a bit of godmodding in it; stupid reckless days... )), so we're even. As a apology from me, have a .

Ok, I'll begin the barrage of EMAILZ!

Dude, sweet find. I didn't get to see this version of the N64 Evangelion - I saw this other "point & click" dating sim that seem to be so damn.... abundant. But after watching the video, it's rather a mixed reaction of joy and "eww" with how the game looks and function from the first level... from a designer standpoint. [Eesh, I've been living and breathing video games for so long that I've officially see everything from the "slaughter house" perspective - er, to explain it it's like seeing a hamburger from the public's point of view and the guy's who actually make the hamburger meat, you know?] It's great to hear stuff like the classic "Angel Attack" theme playing when the game is starting up and all, but from the actual fighting and game design, it looks pretty tacked on. Like, events seem pretty scripted [as they should be... up to a point] and even with the Evangelion and Angel fighting, they're limited to just a few movements [you'd figure the Eva would first be useless until it goes berserker - then the player would have the freedom to do the "actual" fighting in the level - keeping the odds a little more even for a n00by player to at least kick the crap out of a deadly Angel, as portrayed in the series] and bad collision detection. But this is on a N64, so I'll give it a little leeway for arguments sake.

If you find the emulator, please let me know!!! I'd like to dive deeper into this elusive game.

Geez... about Redeath... I have never watched anything more retardedly hysterical. Only thing I can bitch about is the horrible editing / volume problems with their voice recording, but god, that was something else. Know of anywhere with a complete version of it?

Made a fancomic devoted to Eva? Post it so we can all see your inner OTAKU!!!

Well, if it makes you feel any better w/ the N64 version, it has a two player mode added on as well. 'Course, one wonders if it's a good thing or bad thing. As for the emulator, you could probably check a search engine for that. All I have is the SNES stuff and the Genesis.

Wait a sec, hold on... I just remembered: maybe you'd be interested in this clip: [link] this PS2 game appears to be one massive crossover mecha version of Advance Wars for the GBA, and guess who made it in. Heck, try to recognize the winged robot EVA Unit 1 attacks for a .

Well, I think you have to buy it online for the better version. Where though, I don't know exactly.

How about if I email you the comic series I made it with? It was basically one big series crossover roadtrip and covers about ten issues in ten pages each. Beware, though: several plotholes and hilarious WTF moments are abound, not to mention I just started using a new style w/ those comics. This ok w/ you?

Wow, two player mode? I dunno, I just hate to ignore the feeling that they sorta slapped together a game and pasted the Evangelion franchise onto it.

But, DUDE! Super Robot Wars MX is EXACTLY the sort of Evangelion game that would do it justice - I have never DROOLED so hard over a Advance Wars-esque game, EVER. I LOVE just how Berserker Eva Unit 01 just rips that RIPOFF Raxephon a new one! My god, I wish this was on the Gameboy or DS - I'd slap money down just to play something like this!!! D: It's such a perfect design setup - and would make one hell of a handheld game, huh??? I'm going to begin my search for this like a Berserker cravin' some angel flesh!!! Awesome find man!!!!

Hell, I wish I could develop a GameBoy version of this.

Sure, go ahead and email what you want at my Yahoo account [Shadow_Runner27@yahoo.com]. I already sent you the "stuff" you requested, so check your mail. Why not post what you have here on DeviantArt to share with everyone?

Hm, I think they did just that w/ the N64 game.

Well, glad you liked that snippet. . That SRW MX has more series like Getter Robo and Gundam Seed in it too, not just the ones I mentioned specifically (but no Transformers. Waugh... ). Additionally, they recently released a Super Robot Wars game for the GBA, but it doesn't have any licensed figures in there at all (like EVA Unit One), so I'd recommend skipping it if you were in it to kick ass w/ the Almighty Berserker (and who isn't? ).

Jeebus, 13 messages!? Erm, thanks man, I owe you one. I'll try to get those images scanned for ya. I won't put them up here though, because I want to have my more recent works up here. I'll probably create a new account up here just for my older comics, if I can get more people to like my comics. Thanks again!

P.S. These are already translated? Why didn't ADV just use these instead?

Looks like it.

Yeah, I've never heard of Super Robot Wars MX, but damn, why wasn't it released here in the states!? I'd love to of played this, even if it was on a console [Which seems to be kind of, I dunno, overkill for it when you could put this on a handheld]. Odd thing is that there's some parts of Super Robot Wars MX that seemed a little similar to some ideas I had fishing around in my head for some fights with Evas and other mechs.

Yup, 13! I have no idea why they didn't just publish this, but the subtle revisions here and there are welcomed.

Not a console fan, I take it? Oh well, maybe you could use the game to help draw out your fight scenes as an example.

Yeah, I also noticed some changes too. The original constantly had exclamation marks where they didn't need it, so it felt like they were shouting all the time! ( < See, totally unneccessary) Nice to know ADV has some grammar skills when it comes to translating things.

Actually, I'm a console addict. I never got into PC gaming because 1) it's expensive as hell 2) never knew the technical backing until now how to go about doing it and 3) who wants to put up with all the hassel of rigging a PC for gaming when you could get a console?

Noticed that too, huh? I'm curious to see how this series will end.

I'd like to know how it ends myself, but since it's based on a dating sim, maybe it'll be left to the reader's interpretation to answer that (along w/ some horrible fanfics from time to time ).
