Backstory:
Mary never had dragon parents, her egg was found in a war zone from an American raid on a MudWing village. (This is based in the Wings of Fire: Worlds Apart universe) her egg was the only surviving one in the village. Her adoptive father, a human, found her egg and took it in. James never knew he would end up raising a MudWing dragonet. When her egg hatched he had decided (after some very conflicted thoughts about weather he should keep her or turn her in). In the end he decided to keep her. Mary was nicknamed‘Cocktail’ because when she was young she tried to get her hands on a cocktail drink! Mary never had any friends, despite living in a more dragon-friendly country. James had told her the reason why he moved to Canada was because of her. She never understood this and tried asking what she did. James found it hard to explain to her and as a result confused himself. Mary never saw any of Her father’s family, not even his brother Samuel Jones, who is rumoured to have either been kidnapped by aliens or just disappeared due to some unknown science. When Mary was hatched her father had decided to try homeschool her from birth since he didn’t know how much they aged compared to humans. As a result by the age of 10 she had the appropriate education level of a Grade-10 student (in human standards), when one night her father disappeared as well as her ‘uncle’ 2 years earlier. When she realised this she went out. Her father would make a lot fuss whenever she went outside. Because of the country they were living in. Canada may be more dragon friendly but they still reject the idea that dragons are a civilisation in their own right. But Mary ignored this and went away anyway so she could find her father. But not without difficulty...
