Description
So...yep. It's basically a propaganda poster for the new "Pro-Super" generation. An image I originally hated, that I turned into something I like. Muahaha. XD This'll take a little bit of explaining, though...~/~/~
I basically followed the original "Elastigirl" design for the costume, with a few alterations style-wise. This was intended as a type of symbolism, as though by moving forward Vi is essentially moving back. In trying to prove that she's a hero in her own right, as an adult.
Yes, I dropped the "V"s at her hips. It was too bulky of a design, so I kicked them into the hemisphere. *shrugs*
Color choices were intended for their ability to blend into the darkness (her "Ninja" episode in "Icarus.") rather than any similarity to any other artist's designs (be them Synlet or Willet). Also, they were patterned off of the color swatches used in the artbook, "The Art of the Incredibles," and Violet's overall characterization there.
The brightness of the shades was heightened up a bit in order to make a point (sensationalism for the poster, and that she had a deeper "strength" of color, therefore character).
Original designs for Elastigirl's outfit and Vi sketches and colors were originally conceptualized by Teddy Newton, Tony Fucile, and Lou Romano.
The poster idea belongs to Mark Holmes, as it was originally a scrapped idea created for Bob's den (one of his many "Golden Age" slogo posters). I made certain beforehand that the image wasn't included in the movie, for copyright issues. It's only in the book. *nods*
My main intent in borrowing the concept (no infringement, no monetary gain intended) is to show what might happen should the public seek a new icon for their heroism. Why not VyletHaze? She the Heir Apparent, so to speak, defensive power-wise, rather than offensive, serious, careful, you and female (covering several demographics).
Naturally, I figure the propaganda-ishness of this would tick Violet off, but what can she do about it, really? The only consolation is probably the seriousness of her image on the poster. *nods thoughtfully*

Very nice!!!
I like the design of the picture itself and the design of her outfit. Simple yet still very super-hero. *laughs* I don't think that the V at the hips would've worked well. *smiles*

Thanks, Sis! I'm glad you think the design worked out well. And yeah, I had a hard time just drawing it the first time. So the thought of having to draw it a billion times afterward just didn't fly with me. *laughs*

I like! Would add to favorites, but alas...there's no coffee/espresso reference in it so...
Oh...and the other one you did that shows a close-up on her head...I like that one, but for some strange reason I kept expecting to see her sporting a pair of I-Pod ear-buds. I kept thinking that it would look like a bizarre, but fitting, I-Pod promotion....don't know why.

XD *laughs* No, of course that would. be the deciding factor, now wouldn't it?
Hmmm...makes sense, in a way. *nods mock-thoughtfully* The fact that her features are half-hidden, hair is flyaway, and form is moving but in profile...I could definitely cheat and turn it into an ipod commercial, if I wanted to. Your imagination isn't pulling pranks on you too much.

Exactly! Propaganda makes the world go round. Plus, it tends to look cool. And as everyone knows, things that look cool have got to be true, right? *laughs* Thanks bunches.

Thank you, although the idea for the V to go along the ground is actually a design created with an 'i' in mind. *laughs*
Glad you agree. =^__^=

No CAPES! The short woman with dark hair and glasses demands it! *flourishes her baton instead of a cigarette holder*
