Description
A long and deep cold grasped Captain Rathh as she saw the enemy ship prowling the debris field. The ship reminded Rathh of a Piranha that had giant blades instead of fins and looked to be bristling with menacing looking guns. The front of the ship had what appeared to be a gapping maw designed to feast on the souls, lost in the vast abyss of space. Vicious crimson beams sweept the area and stopped on all debris that it came across. The ship appeared to be looking for survivors. Whomever this enemy was, they were thorough and relentless in their desire to make sure that no-one had survived.

The cold that had penetrated Rathh became liquid and bathed her body from head to toe when she saw the unknown ememy ship turn towards her position. She had to buy some time, give the crew a chance to get the engines back online. She racked her brain to come up with a plan as the dark ship seeped towards her position like poisonous cacoon. Then an idea came to her. Her feet were moving even before the plan had fully formed in her mind. Rathh raced towards the aft section of the ship where the escape pods were docked.

She nearly bowled over an engineer as she entered the launch sequence for the escape pod. She would sacrifice and empty escape pod in an attempt to buy some more time. Taking a chance upon being detected early, Rathh contacted the head engineer as to the progress on the status of the repairs. She was informed that the ship would have at least fifty percent of its power within a couple of minutes. It was going to have to be enough.

Using an internal monitor, Rathh pulled up the view outside of the ship. The enemy ship was almost on top of their postion. Stella launced the escape pod. The reaction was immediate and just what she hoped would happen. The enemy ship's search beams immediatly locked on the fast moving escape pod and opened fire. The first volley of bolts struck the pod on one of its three external thrusters causing it to spin wildly and riccochet off of a larger chunk of debris.

The enemy ship then powered up and blazed by the Dragon like wrath incarnate as it closed on the pod's position. There was no time to wastes. Rathh raced towards the cockpit and prepare to get her and her crew as far away from the enemy as possible.
