The feature that differentiated Umi from the Brutes, machete and vore girls is that she would be able to swallow Uchins or bombs and continue to chasing the player, now being impossible to be eaten for some playables and being able to resist attacks. it could force the player to have her as a road cleaner or shortcut maker.

the fact that there are already playable characters that can eat uchins downplays Umi's main feature, and well, her design doesn't justify having such poor skill...
