Thousands of years ago, the djinn used to be cherished by the people of the sands. After a cataclysm that turned their civilization into ruins overnight, the vessels that these powerful elementals were bound to have been lost and forgotten. Armaita is one of these long forgotten water djinn, a Marid who used to be petitioned every month to make it rain for the people of her extravagant city. She's had handful of people disturb her vessel over the long centuries, but none were able to take her from the ruins. So there she sat, on her pedestal, being watched by sandstone golems, as she was when the city still stood. Either the city will become sand and she'll be free of her obligations or someone worthy will take her urn and leave with her bound to their service. Power has a purpose, and the unworthy don't need it.
