Made on the 6 of July with Paint.net, here is an art of Toucan Sam (the Kellogg's Froot Loops mascot and spokesbird) in his short-lived 1981 packaging design, doing the same pose that he did in his 1967/1970s packaging design, don't get me wrong the 1967 packaging design is good and all, though it does not really resemble how Toucan Sam looked in animated ads during the 1970s.

I often think the reason why this packaging design exists likely owes to the fact that Kellogg's wanted to make Toucan Sam on Froot Loops packaging look more like how he did in the animated ads at that time since the 1967 design was not seen animated at all, which only got worse as some of the last boxes containing the 1967 design issued prior to the 1981 packaging design include print ads feature the animated version of Toucan Sam rather than the 1967 design. Alas, this packaging design was not used for long as it was replaced by an more iconic image of the character .
