Description

The 4th of October 1997 rebrand would be the final time BBC Alba would be sporting it's clock, and very much became the last BBC channel to use the clock after BBC Two and BBC One dropped theirs in 2001 and 2002 respectively. Again the clock was still the very same 1980s computerised one that had been seen on BBC Alba since 1985.

Like the globe, it was also adapted for widescreen, and lasted until BBC Alba underwent a complete rebrand and overhaul on the 19th of September 2008, finally retiring the globe symbol and the clock after 40 years, and on the same day, BBC Alba dropped their long-running Scottish-language news programme Naidheachdan airson Alba, with it being replaced with An Là, three days later.
