Description
Many of you may remember my What if idea of British home video company, Video Collection International branching out to more international countries with me creating a imagined German version of The Video Collection ident, so this time, here is a Japanese version (that would be used for Japanese language releases in Japan, though The Video Collection ident would be used for English with Japanese subtitles releases).
In Japan, VCI would launch in 1990 as The Video Collection Japan Ltd, with VCI's UK output of the time being sold overthere, they would also collabrate with Sony Creative Products Inc. to release Thomas the Tank Engine videos, and also be the home video distributers of Brum, Rosie & Jim and Tots TV as well, along with (strangely) serving as a distributor of BBC Video tapes in Japan. Though the Japanese devision changed their name to VCI Japan Ltd in 1995 (as well as introducing the 1995 VCI logo onto Japanese VHS covers as well), the ident would not be changed until 1996. The last releases to use this ident was the 1996 Japanese release of Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends - Song and Story Collection and the 1996 Japanese re-release of Brum - Rescue and Other Stories. This makes surprise appreances on VCI Japan Ltd (July-1996-September 2006) re-releases of The Video Collection Japan tapes, with the 1996 VCI Japan ident appearing at the end of the videos, and even makes odd appearances on early (1998-2001) VCI Japan Ltd DVD releases of The Video Collection Japan output.
