Super Transwoman is not saying that Heather was black, necessarily, because they wouldn't know her race before transforming into rock. However, she's relating to B.A.D. due to their similar racial background. The Protectors are racially diverse, but Bridge is left in this regard as the only person of African heritage on the team. And, of course, I wanted these two to talk to each other because Vivica is absolutely an activist character, and they both are telekinetics, the only power overlap between the two groups (though Xeno gets close to telepathy with their empathy).

It should be noted that I see the telekinetics as still interacting with their powers differently. Super Transwoman is more of a hand-to-hand combatant, using her telekinesis for things like bursts and the like, while B.A.D. primarily tends to use hers to lift and push things, and stay at a distance.
