Description
One face looks out from all his canvases,One same figure sits, walks, leans,
She was hidden just behind those screens.
Within that mirror, that gave back all her loveliness,
A princess in sapphire or amethyst dress,
A nameless girl in love distressed,
A saint, and angel – each canvas says,
The same one-meaning, not more nor less.
He hungers to paint her face by day,
And by night it seems his love’s astray,
But she with true and humane eyes looks back upon him,
She is fair as the full moon and joyful as light,
Not jaded with waiting, no longer filled with sorrow.
No longer as she was, her virgin hopes shone bright,
But as she is and as she will forever fill his dreams.

As you already know, I really like this piece...maybe it's the personal context.
I hope you put more of your poetry online, you're very talented.
