Description

Once known as a giant spider under the name Yaushikep from the mountains, the gods, mainly the sea god Repun saved their worlds from him, answering their prayers and punished hthe Giant Spider Goa’uld, a Arachnide God, or Demon and pulled Yaushikep out of his host forcing him into a giant octopus far away from his original own worlds and followers and equally far away from his well known terrain and surroundings. Now known as Akkorokamui, he became a minor Kami once more after undergoing purification from past evils and became a benevolence Kami over time who while strict had the powers to heal and bestow knowledge, but still could do harm if approached and was known to escape the grasps of his enemies and even imprisonment all by himself. There was some truth to these tales, myths and legends, as he had been forced into one of the Tako, the also so called Octopus People, or Octopus Humanoids, who depending on the subgroup came in a variety of pink, blue, brown, gray and red skin colors, but some subgroups/ races actually could change their coloring depending on moot and surroundings. Most lived in houses near the sea, ocean, lakes and rivers, or directly in them in underwater homes. The majority of them were common to the neighboring Sepat/ Nome/ Sector Province of Ishikawa and Shimane respectively. While they looked vaguely humanoid in a Kimono or other traditional clothes, their body mostly colonists of a head, as well as eight tentacles, which they use inside of clothes and armor to form one humanoid limb each with two of their tentacles to take a more human form. Despite this they can still move their tentacles like normal Octopus, which can give them immense mobility, speed, agility and a moment of surprise when facing regular humans. They were known to be excellent cooks, especially the females and equally skilled then human woman, some were even rumored to be capable of disguising themselves as such, living their lives with human husbands as role-models for domestic capabilities, including cooking, cleaning and taking care of homes, while husbands were away working. As they were however aquatic and amphibian they needed to return to the water frequently, during which their disguise could be discovered.

Others found out that the famous Octopus Soup they were so well known for was actually their bathing water reused. They were common on many worlds of Amaterasu and had once lived all over old Japan when she still ruled over the region as well. Another famous variant of theirs is the Tako Nyuudo, an Octopus Tako Yokai who worked as a priest. While their males and females could have hair on their heads and faces similar to human, this was most common in already existing human hybrids and not many of such Yokai-hybrids were the result of relationships, but often forced interaction in many chases. There were however also tales of Tako Yokai and their human Yamato Tar and other humans forming true marriage bonds and living together until one of them died. As monks the Tako Nyuudo or Tako Nyudu often wander the lands and worlds of Amaterasu, many of which serving as wandering priests fighting other Yokai on behalf of their Kami and Daimyo gods. At the same time male and female members of this species also had a reputation for seducing even members of other species, but it is a little known fact that all Tako Yokai are virgins, as both male and females die once they have given birth, the males nearly immediately after fertilizing the roughly 100 eggs the female puts into an egg lagoon, pool, or pond, while the females live until the eggs hatch and learn them the way of being Tako, roughly then dying when these children reach puberty themselves. Most of their lives even on worlds they share with humans and other species are hidden in legend and mystery, as many Tako Yokai live deep underwater in their very own cities and towns at the bottom of rivers, lakes and oceans. Some also traveled outside of their very own homeworld and colonial worlds were they often made up a small local majority, or a sizable local minority. On most of these worlds they would work in professions they were very well known for and surpassed many normal humanoids, like cooking cleaning, sewing and other skillets, some even in the military and other such branches. This also was how some members of their species made it even to worlds like Charos, were some of them would later be working for the Lucian Alliance.
