Description
The next world visited by QM-1 was rather similar to Earth, with the exception that the Circassians, or Adyghe, a ethnic group in the Northwest Caucasus, native to Circassia, who had been conquered by the Russians since 1714 had gained their independence after the Fall of the Soviet Union and created a nation known as the Circissian Confederation, were various independent Circissian sub-dialects and groups lived inside a federal state. Having nearly forgotten their own language in exile, mainly in the Ottoman Empire, most Circissians who returned after the Fall of the Soviet Union were Muslim, making Circissia the most northern Caucasian Muslim state. Made up by their twelve historic Adyghe tribes of Circassia Abdzakh, Besleney, Bzhedugh, Hatuqwai, Qabardey, Mamkhegh, Natukhaj, Shapsugh, Chemguy, Ubykh, Yegeruqwai and Zhaney, each represented by a star on their flag, the majority of circissian tribal provinces (nine) is aristocratic and monarchic, while only three are democratic. Therefore their overall state is a parliamentarian constitutional monarchy. Historically a part of the Mountainous Republic of the Northern Caucasus and the Karachay-Cherkessia Autonomous Oblast, the Circassians had also been divided into the republics of Adygea, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia and Krasnodar Krai, as well as southwestern parts of Stavropol Krai and Rostov Oblast, meaning that thee Circassians or Adyghe have also been designated as the following: Adygeans in Adygea, Kabardians in Kabardino-Balkaria, Cherkess in Karachay-Cherkessia, and Shapsug in Krasnodar Krai, although all four are essentially the same ethnic people. About 800,000 Circassians remained in the historical Circassia territory at the fall of the Soviet Union, around 500,000 of them Kabardin, 120,000 of them Adyghe, 70,000 Cherkess and 3,500 Shapsug. With the Fall of the Soviet Union and the Russian Federation itself having little interest n the region, instead rather quickly siding with the Circassian against nearby Azerbaijani, Georgians and Dagestani Circissia gained independence and the majority of 3,7 million Circassian (about 2 million living in nearby Turkey, 300,000 in the Levant in Jordan, Syria and Mesopotamia, as well as 50,000 in Western Europe and the Untied States, returned to their ancestors homeland.
The modern Circassian princedom and republics provinces of the Circassian Confederation are loosely allied in a federation. While most are Islamic and many speak Turkish as a secondary language a small but influential minority is Eastern orthodox and speaks Russian, while others speak English, Arabic, or Hebrew as their Secondary language and some follow Xabze/ Khabze/ Khabza/ Habze the traditional Circassian faith, or are atheists, since Soviet times. Beside Circassian independence and a few more local conflicts, wars and instability in the Caucasus region however, this dimension and reality of Earth was rather similar to that of Earth Alpha. They fought the Goa’uld out there and they were winning as a coalition of the most industrialized Tau’ri states knew about the Stargate and had crated a Earth protection Treaty that would oversee the Stargate Complex and the storage were the Quantum Mirror was stored on behalf of the Untied Nations. Together they had defeated the Supreme System Lord Ra and now fought the remaining Goa’uld System Lord and System Ladies in their Milky Way Galaxy. A task they were aided in by the Free Jaffa and secretly also the Tok’Ra, even if they had not made contact with the Tok’Ra yet. With their combined efforts they had already slain Apophis, as well as Cronus, meaning that no serious treat remained from the other System Lords as far as the Quantum Mirror team could tell. Because of that they left this otherwise rather similar reality behind in good faith that the local Tau’ri would manage to keep things under control. Once home they would create a detailed report of their mission and explain the events that had lead to the independence of Circassia in this dimension and reality, something that had not occurred in their own. There the Circassians were a minority mostly living in Exile, many far away from their original homeland that was still part of the Russian Republic, who had no intention of ever giving up on it.
