Thank you. It is a lovely place for certain and I love how the view of it changes daily Never knowing what colors, or waves or clouds will be the masterpiece of the day

Thank you very much. I am thinking of doing a series of wave crashes. It was a crazy wave crashing day. I didn't know where to point my camera from one moment to the next. I must have got 100 keeper shots! Perhaps I should make a calendar of just huge crashing waves.

How long did you have to wait for the waves to break over the rocks? Gorgeous

I will be thinking of you in post processing and find the perfect one to dedicate to you and offer it with my wishes that you are healthy and happy.

Heal well and know you are loved and appreciated.

Very nice!

Depends on what one needs. If there is a strong passion, even anger or intense pain then the harsh crashing can pacify quite nicely.

ahh the pacific, born and raised and definitely aged here hehe

Thank you for your kindness and endless support.

This one is wonderful in a different way, not quite so peaceful as the other, but I love the way you captured the crashing waves. I hope I can get some nice shots like that next month when I go to California.

The coast of California is extremely different every 20 miles or so

Yreka Up in the North, very sandy with mountainous rocks and some waves (depending on weather and tide)

SF is more flat, definitely grayer. Seal beach or the one at the end of the SF Zoo (Next to cliff house..down the road on hwy 1) is a beach loaded with sand dollars all up and down the beach...thousands..and a great place to visit.

Half Moon Bay is wonderful with smaller rocks, bigger waves and a place in HMB called Moss Beach is a natural reserve for tide pools, a mile out and wide of every type of tide pool animal you can imagine and such a treat. I highly recommend it for all. You must look for low tide and go then.

Santa Cruz and outlining beaches are shallower and bring massive amounts of tourists for the surfing and swimming. Very sandy but not nearly as photogenic, unless of course you want bikinis hehe

Monterey is where the deep blues and greens come in. Very rare colors of these beaches which are not found in many places. Huge rocks, crashing waves (depending on weather, tides etc) Many rock formations and a plethora of sea animals. The most expensive place also though

San Simione is a wonderful place for mating sealions..miles of them it seems on the coastline.

Santa Monica another gorgeous place with the water being bathtub warm at times! In some places the beach goes out for 1/4 mile at ankle depth...you can walk for it seems like forever. You have many different types of seascape here.

LA is LA hehe

San Diego is a wonderful place with near perfect weather for swimming, surfing and and all around good time. Night time photography is great here. Beaches have many jetties and piers and the city is all lit up like SF.

Just a brief guide to some CA coastlines any more detail about anyplace that you might need..let me know..

You write so beautifully about the coast. My husband was a Southern CA beach kid, so we have seen a lot of the coast, but have not really had the time to really SEE it all. We usually drive from Seattle to Ventura with only one night on the road so you know we never really have enough time to really explore. Usually the first we see of the ocean is Pismo Beach as we fly by. We will be going to Half Moon Bay for the first time on this trip and have one full day and two nights which is really a long time for us.

Moss beach sounds nice. Any other info you have to share on the best places to visit and/or photograph around there would be very much appreciated.
