Old work.Japanese Cat.
Japanese Bobtail originate the Japanese domestic cat.
Japanese cat has an interesting tail. Some of them are the long and slender tails, and others are the short tails which look like the rabbit.
Their fur is various coloring. Mike ( three color - white, black and red - ), chatora ( stripe of red ), kiji ( stripe of grey ), white, black, red etc...
Japanese have cherished the cats for a long time, because they always catch the rat and the mouse. Especially there are a lot of cats in the port-towns. I guess itβs because cats can get their favorite food - fish- easily in the port-town.
Sailors had believed male Mike cats have a mysterious power that ensures the safe of the voyage.

Cats are good luck signs in every culture, I guess. Egyptians had their black cat gods, the Japanese their bob-tails, and the Chinese their Tigers... I love cats ^^

Yes. They have been regarded as good animals around the world. : )
But I heard they had been regarded as the witchs' servants by people in the middle age of Europe. :3

Yes. I donβt know this is truth or not.
In the middle age, European didn't like the cats because they believed cats were servants of wiches. So, almost cats were killed.
But it caused terrible occurrence. When the cats decreased, the rats increased. The rats were the carrier of the Pest which was one of the terrible diseases. Pest spread quickly around Europe, and one third people were killed by it. : )
By the way, Japanese had believed that the cats that was over 20 years old had a mysterious power and sometime they became Bakeneko(Yokai = Japanese monster). On the other hand, Japanese regarded them as symbol of a good harvest. οΌD

Oh, yes, the "Black Plague" or "Black Death" as us Americans call it, caused by rats... no cats killed the rats, so the people died instead.
Having a cat on a farm here is a tradition, and many farmers think it's good luck. Cats can chase away creatures like ravens and rabbits that would get crops, and some even scare away deer
