Description

Name: Casmir Dabrowski (current Alias: Peter Armstrong)

Gender: Male

Age: 33 human years old

Height: 185 cm (6.07 ft)

Weight: 200 lbs (90.7 kgs)

Date of Birth: 1985

Spoken Languages: English, Polish, Russian, German, Yiddish, and Spanish

Species: Polish Human Male

Hobbies: Reading, woodcarving, listening to classical music

Personality: Casmir is pragmatic, methodical, and keeps others at a distance. He does not engage easily on a genuine level, and affects aliases to hide his identity as a means of helping him complete his Hunt. While not overtly bloodthirsty, hot-headed, or aggressive, he does enjoy a good challenge, as well as the thrill of the Hunt. He has a slight weakness for children and small and/or young animals (kittens, puppies, and birds, mostly.)

Supernatural Powers: Possesses an old artifact known as The Eye of Ahura, named after the Zoroastrian creator god, embedded in his right eye. It affords passive protection from eye-related abilities (visual hypnosis, petrifying gaze, etc.), but cannot protect him from other sensory-based spells (i.e. Siren's songs, pheromone-based magic, etc.), as well as show him the "true nature" of things he looks at (such as revealing the affinity of an Elemental, or the true form of a glamoured Super). Additionally, it has two Active abilities: The first allows him to dispel most illusions (such as revealing doors or paintings hidden by magic) and hypnosis, but cannot undo curses or powerful bindings, or shatter things like artificial shells or overly-large Concealment Bubbles (i.e. reveal a building or compound hidden by magic. He can see it, but he can't reveal it.) The second allows him to view events in a localized area by showing a reconstruction of said event, played back up to five minutes. He can pause the playback, to further study the event, but those five minutes are cumulative - if he does this several times and reaches his Five Minute limitation, the effect ends and he becomes unable to perform the action again for two full hours. It also greatly fatigues him if he uses it to the full duration.

Abilities: Casmir has extensive weapons training with a variety of firearms, ranged, and melee weapons, while also an exceptionally skilled boxer. Furthermore, he is well-versed in first aid, as well as demonology and ancient religions/cults from various parts of the world.

Weapons: Casmir has a secret cache with a variety of heavy equipment for specialized Hunts, but is most commonly found with a KS-23K Russian shotgun, customized to fire different types of rounds - shrapnel, concussive, incendiary -  as well as a Wurttemberg Faschinenmesser short sword made of a mixture of titanium and silver, with sharpening enchantments and runes to allow him to damage certain non-corporeal entities, while being more resistant than conventional blades. He also carries a small, ornate dagger, however it seems to be non-functional as a weapon.

Hunter Equipment: Casmir wears light, movement friendly polycarbon armor for his arms and legs, a heavy duster with concealed compartments, various scrolls and talismans enchanted for protection and binding wards, and a special “armory key” that allows him to access his secret weapons cache (hidden in an undisclosed location) through any door that is not automatic, and also possesses a keyhole.

Weaknesses: Casmir is, for all intents and purposes, a normal human. He has no cybernetic augmentations, no super soldier serum, no advanced healing factor, and no capability to use magic of his own volition. Furthermore, while he is well trained in the use of a variety of weapons, he is not a master of any of them. Lastly, while the Eye of Ahura does afford him protection from ocular abilities, he is still susceptible to other forms of dominance if he does not have the proper protections on hand.

Background: A native of the Tatra Mountains in Poland, Casmir was just another regular boy living with his brother and mother, listening to the stories of faeries, monsters, and wild hunts told by his people. Though at first he believed them to be nothing more than myths, a tragic encounter with the Paranormal some few years into his adolescence would soon shatter that naive belief; Casmir and his brother happened upon a succubus, though the two couldn't have guessed the beautiful woman's true nature. She led them into the hands of a strange cult, and it was only through a noble sacrifice on his brother's part that Casmir was able to escape a very grim fate.

Lost in the Polish wilderness and unwilling to return home to face his mother with the sad tidings of his brother, Casmir succumbed to exhaustion and hopelessness. He was found by an old man, who helped him recover, then taught him the ways of the Hunt. It was bitter work, but Casmir proved an apt student, and some time later his training rewarded him with the Succubus who had left his life in shambles. This, in turn, led him to the Cult's sacrificial ground, now long-abandoned. The only clues to be had were traces of strange, esoteric rituals involving “Blood Magic.” Unable to rescue his brother, Casmir has since devoted himself to snuffing out the Cult and hunting the monsters of his stories, to prevent another tragedy like what befell him. And now, his long game of cat and mouse has led him to a city called... “Wathias.”
