When working on the Marauder kitbash from the previous project, I had actually wanted to use a more air-cooled autocannon similar to the one that came standard on the Marauder, but when I couldn't find something similar on the market, I ended up kitbashing with a model of a WW2 era anti-air gun. The guns were stable and fit well, but looked too small for the role. When I presented the finished product to my group, two of the players immediately commented that they couldn't see them as anything but AC2s. To avoid a lifetime of being told the same thing ad nauseum, I tried recasting the one Marauder AC I had to spare.

The result was a bit too oval, making it difficult to fit into the housing, requiring them to be carved down. Further, in spite of affixing a brass rod inside of the autocannons, I suspect that the Tamiya Greenstuff I used to make the recasts is too brittle for the job. The guns will probably break because minis foam can only do so much, but I'm taking the picture to show proof before it does break. Further, I can at least say they won't be mistaken for AC2s anymore.
