My Imperial Royal Guard Costume, "finished" for halloween.
It took months of procrastination but I have it close to finished. all thats left is the under-robe and a few cosmetic changes.

The helmet is a repainted Don Post Royal Guard. It took two repaints to get right. the first was with the best red i could find in krylon but it looked too muted... not shiny enough even with gloss clear coat. The second one I applyed with Rustoleum protective gloss enamel in royal red and it turned out perfect.

You'll notice that the visor looks a bit funny... thats because there is none. I have quite gotten around to getting a tinted replacment. the "rim" is just blacked out with sharpie and I have a black see thru nylon mask on underneath for the pictures

The cloak I put together last night. you'll noticed the shoulders are different from most guardsmen. Thats because I bought the velvet months ago and only got around to making the cloak recently. Only to find that it wouldn't be long enough. I had plenty of material, just not long enough to reach from shoulder to feet. so I had to improvise and go with an alternative style. It involves the shoulder yoke, and part that wraps completly around an meets in the front, ther is also another piece that drapes down the front in a style similar to the guardsmen cloak in the Crimson Empire comic. I might post a pic in scraps that better shows how it opens but the "action pic" that shows it was ruined by my dads lousy photography.

The force pike i slaped together in ten minutes. it incluces a part of an adjustable wash brush (which was what that knob was for) a center punch on the tip, and a piece of threaded pipe (the dark patch near the top) part of which is held on by the essencial bit of costume tools...Duct tape.
still needs to be painted though.

I'm hoping that despite the different shoulder style, this (when finished) will be be acceptable for membership in 501st Legion
