DescriptionSo I've been working on this a very long time and it's finally finished! This is a reference sheet commission for SashaWren of her character, Wren. I had a great time working with Wren to design this character and portray her on an interesting refsheet; and it definitely took a lot to get it but I'm very proud with the outcome.Wren and I worked a lot together to design this character, but any and all information about the character's background and Tribe are all courtesy of Wren. I don't deserve the credit for that.
And thank you FoxPhillix for all of the times I asked you if it looked okay, and for proofreading the text!

My goodness Shin! This is a beautiful reference sheet! I love the character and how she changes her colors in each of the different seasons, also the fact that the colors are simple and blend in so well. This a really detailed and thought out character. She's gorgeous, and her humanoid form is adorable as well! <3

This is such a stunning reference sheet I can't even find the right words. Wrens design is simple on the one hand and so immensely vibrant because of her beautiful colors on the other hand. I love the whole layout of the sheet and all those little explanations. One question tho. Are the Byondi and the Kya'Raians related or by any chance even the same? (since changing names of species seems to be in atm :3)

Thank you so much beb. I'm glad you like the sheet. Byondi and KyaRaians are the same thing. I didn't technically change the name but basically, the world they live on/in is called KyaRa, and that's why I called them KyaRaians. But I mean, technically everything of KyaRa would be KyaRaian and that'd be like calling us Earthlings. Byondi is the word they use to call themselves so I decided to use that name instead C:

Wow, she is gorgeous in all four seasons! I love the way her horns and mane changes, I mean the colours and flowers were the obvious change, and then I registered her mane changed hue and moulted as well! I think I love everything about this, the character design, her Byondi form, the colour swatches and the layout of the ref in particular, like the way her tail/ears poke over the box lines. How on earth do you fit in all that information and not make it cluttered? Good grief I am actually quite impressed in the no-confusing-ness of this :I
Also did the species get a name change? I had noticed on Wren and FoxPhillix's refs it said 'Byondi & KyaRa', which made me wonder if there were two different types, or if it was the same species but different names :I

I'm so glad that you say it's not confusing because it was actually pretty hard to organize everything; especially in that bottom left area haha!
No it's like the same species! KyaRa is the world they live in and I use to call the species KyaRaians but then I realized that'd be like calling us Earthlings so I settled on the name Byondi, which is what they call themselves (in the particular language that my characters speak, anyway; the most important one to me so w/e XD)

They may be. They're definitely not long-distance flying wings. They're based off of a Wren, which has small wings like here and here .

You're totally right XD Short, broad wings are really great for maneuverability, which benefits this character because she lives in a forest and it allows her to fly through it in areas that dont have a dense tree growth. However, short, broad wings also require more energy than long, broad (or long, narrow) wings, which are for gliding.
