I'm on a bit of a Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess kick... mainly on a Midna kick. And a MidnaxLink kick (SHUT UP, IT'S CUTE)... I did a TON of Midna doodles one day at work and this was one of them. Because apparently in my mind Midna needs to be a mermaid at some point. Also, my mind is apparently still whereit was when I was eight years old.
In my mind Midna is more of the sneaky, mischievous little thing implied through the game and less "regal" than her true form looked. That's all an act. She is a happy person and likes fun. So I always draw her smiling (except when I draw her lockin' lips with Link, then it's less smiley and more puckery
)Yeah that's uh... that's it.
Apparently when life makes me stressed and insane I go a bit loopy.

I've never played Zelda before so I have no idea who this is but I love the dark mermaid look. Such a relief that someone else can imagine a mermaid that isn't green!
I don't really like the background, though. Then again lately I've had this strong loathing for the cursed "blue background" that you get your pictures taken in front of so it's probably just that. XD

it's so odd- i was browsing DA yesterday looking specifically for pics of midna- how IS it that she's just so awesome? XD anyway i simply adore your design for mermidna- you have more talent in your pinky finger than i have in both hands! it's truly inspiring. i think...i shall try to do a midna picture here before too long (as soon as i can finish fran)

This pic is just absolutely lovely. I seriously think you Transitioned her into a mermaid incredibly well. I especially love the color of her fins.
The only thing I think that you could add that would be neat is if MerMinda had those glowing blue rune things on her arms and tail that the original has, but that is just a random thought.
I love how you describe her personality. Let's face it, despite her regal appearance at the end, she is the same mischievous girl that was Links companion throughout the entire game. I imagine her being regal and proper as a ruler, but as happy and mischevious as you describe her the rest of the time. Thinking about it, the Twilight Realm seems like a much bright place, doesn't it? ^_^

The flow / movement is what drew me to this piece, moreso than the bright, contrasting colors. Very lovely, and quite dynamic.

Haven't played the game but what cought me is her colors that remind me of coals and fire, which is a interesting idea since she is a mermaid and lives in whater. The coloring of her hair is supurb I must say
