Following the collapse of Jurassic World, Claire Dearing had recruited a group of former employees, two of them being Sunset Shimmer and Carmen Sandiego, to form the Dinosaur Protection Group to continue spreading awareness of the existence of the cloned dinosaurs. On this particular outing, a group consisting of Claire, Owen Grady, Zia Rodriguez, Franklin Webb, Sunset and Carmen had journeyed to Isla Nublar, with aid from Cabot Finch and the Hammond Foundation, to rescue as many dinosaurs as possible from the doomed island. But first, they must work fast to develop a cure for an unknown illness that has plagued the poor dinosaurs.

As the sky darkens before the island's volcano, Mt. Sibo, is due to erupt, a pair of frightened Apatosaurus are unaware that they're about to be taken to a new home.
