Personality: Astillbe can usually be seen wandering around town aimlessly or staring into space. Most villagers think he might be staring at something or someone like a weirdo, but he’s actually just busy daydreaming and thinking about things! He ponders most over weird things like “what would a pine tree’s favorite food be?” or he’ll daydream about how he would look in a sports car. Since he’s too busy with his head being up in the clouds, he’ll usually not notice when someone says hi to him or tries to talk to him, which might make other villagers think he’s ignoring them or being standoffish, but just shout a few times and you might break him out of his trance! If you’re able to pull him out of cloudland, you’ll see he’s easygoing at most times, and likes to hang around pretty much anywhere. In problematic situations, however, he’ll usually overthink the problem and make himself panicked.

History: Astillbe lived in a town smaller than Lilypad, much smaller in fact. Since his small old town had nothing for him to do, this may have started his habit of daydreaming and thinking, as it would be a way to waste time, until it eventually became the main thing for him to do. One particular day, he took interest in thinking about the fish in the river. He walked along the river, thinking about if they got exhausted from going against the current, what were the fishes’ favorite ice cream flavor, and how good the education system was in a school of fish. As he was thinking about these things, he kept walking... and walking... and walking until he eventually reached Lilypad by mistake. See how this place was a lot bigger, and had a lot more things to think about, he decided to move to Lilypad as a permanent resident (or at least, until he wanders off again)

Other:
- Favorite food is juniper berries
- Likes to write his thoughts down, especially if he’s forced to be cooped up inside due to bad weather
- A friend from his old town gave him his shirt as a joke, but it’s now his favorite shirt
- Another old town “friend” gave him a book of existential questions and he cried in fear after trying to read it
