Description
This is one of those times I feel like I really got to connect with a homework piece. Which feels weird to say. The class it's for is super process-driven; it's sort of all about coming up with ideas in a very strange and roundabout way that makes you look at things a little differently. Specifically, I've been having to draw in an antique falling-apart book for about two weeks, using random snatches of words on the pages to prompt sketches and concepts around a topic given in class. For the first assignment, it was "afterlife."made with-

This is really pretty. I love the glowing flowers. (Also, the title made me think of the song by Imogen Heap with the same name. XD)

This is so beautiful!! The mood speaks so clearly and will hit everyone from a different angle. The movement of the water, the darkness, the glow of the flowers, her posture, it all speaks with it's own voice that combines to make an eloquent composition!!

Stunning. I love how the water has been done as well as the glowing flowers. I think my favourite part is the hair though. I'd love a tutorial on how you did that. Beautiful lighting and colour scheme. Well done!
(O.o Vellum sounds so cool!)

I wouldn't say so much "afterlife" as I would "free life shouldn't be caged".

I have to say, even if the arm is a -tad- too long, it is lovely. She looks emaciated in a beautiful way. I like it.

For some reason makes me think about the Witch in L4D xD
Overral I like it, and like someone said before I noticed the arm is too long, but her expression, pose, composition and color palette makes everything go in harmony so it doesn't look bad, also it looks like she is supposed to be that way.

I like the use of colors and the contrasts used via the light. though the theme kinda has me a little confused. I prolly missed something in your description, but all in all, very nice piece.

this is so tender and emotive! seeing as someone commented on that, i actually love the elongated proportions, i thins they add a sense of fragility which only makes the picture stronger

Nice. Obviously, the flowers with the light are those that are among the living; but in the main focus, the girl's flower is dead, thus she's dead. the irony though, is that the living are actually drowned while the dead surfaced. I guess the message here is that you are free or experience the world differently during the afterlife

Love the atmosphere in this! It reminds me a little of the underworld from the key by Marianne Curley.
