Description
Themes in mind for the two shown characters:Richter Belmont: Cross Your Heart (Castlevania: Rondo of Blood - Unused) [link]
Zero: I Stand Alone (performed by Godsmack) [link]
And now, here's ther second Castlevania vs. Mega Man X art, as part of the N-Team vs. Wonder Army art project of mine. And this time, it's the powerful Richter Belmont facing off against Capcom's crimson maverick hunter himself, Zero. And as the title states, they're both powerful hunters here, although of their own different kind.
If there are those who have played Castlevania: Rondo of Blood on either the Dracula X Chronicles game on PSP or on the original untranslated game itself on the Wii's Virtual Console itself, then you do know that Richter is one very powerful vampire hunter, as he can summon more powerful attacks to the usual holy items that Simon Belmont or any other old school hunter had done in the past Castlevania games (meaning for example that for the Holy Water, he can summon the Hydro Storm, whereas for the Holy Cross, he can do the Grand Cross attack and so on). But for Richter's story, he was on a quest to rescue the three kidnapped maidens, including his girlfriend Annette and the young Maria Renard (although when rescued, you can play as Maria), who were captured by Count Dracula and the evil priest Shaft. And assuming that Richter was able to rescue all of the maidens, he would've destroyed Dracula, just like all Belmonts had done before him, although if he didn't, then Dracula would've escaped. Anyway, Richter was able to rescue the maidens and defeat Dracula, although years later, he would disappear from sight, only to reemerge as some sort of villain (albeit a brainwashed one) who claimed himself to be the Lord of Castlevania. Had it not for the efforts of Maria and Alucard in rescuing Richter from the brainwashed spell of Shaft, who knows what else Richter would've done if he hadn't been saved from that horrible nightmare.
Anyway, Richter was originally from an era further than Simon's time, but in my crossover mind and in the 2010 version of Captain N, Richter Belmont would be able to join the N-Team and to team up with his ancestor, Simon Belmont, of all things. I made Richter a good friend to Mega Man and Pit, although i was normally supposed to replace Simon by Richter after Simon was supposedly killed by Ganondorf's magic. But i made him come back from the dead, so now Simon and Richter had to co-exists, which would be no problem, since both are Belmonts.
As for Zero, he was Dr. Wily's final creation, just like X was Dr. Light's final creation. And normally, he was supposed to be the biggest threat to the world, although when he awoke from his 100 year slumber and that he took on Sigma (as explained in the Mega Man X4 game), as he was about to finish Sigma off, something within Zero had triggered, stopping him dead in his tracks, not to mention leaving him wide open for Sigma to take him down afterwards. Zero was probably carrying some sort of virus within him, but a punch from Sigma had somehow transferred the virus from Zero's body to Sigma's, thus Sigma was the one who became the ultimate villain instead of Zero. For Zero himself, all traces of evil had been removed from his body and he became one heck of a good maverick hunter, although of the Special A Class, when it was seen that he took down mavericks without hesitation, not to mention that he became a good friend, partner and mentor to X himself. Zero's not one who asks questions when it comes to battle maverick robots. As explained in the conclusion of his own series in Mega Man Zero 4, he did say that he doesn't care for justice and that if he sees a target, he eliminates it without asking questions. That's his mission to do so.
Normally, Zero was supposed to be a support character, but he became so popular that Capcom have decided to let him stick around for more Mega Man X games to come. In fact, Zero became the ultimate showstealer in those games, due to the techniques that he uses in the X (and Zero) games, with the help of a laser saber that he personally dubbed it The Z-Saber.
Now, seeing that both Richter and Zero each had dark pasts, what would happen if they both collide against one another? Well, knowing them both, they wouldn't hesitate to take their best shots at each other physically, as neither one of them would ask questions about what to do to the other one. However, Zero knows that like X, he cannot harm humans, although he did battle human fighters in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom (in the Ultimate All-Stars incarnation of it on the Wii, that is), so i guess he wouldn't have any problem battling Richter. Then again, Richter is not one who would go down that easily. And quite frankly, neither one of them would want it any other way, as they wouldn't mind this challenge.
For their music themes now:
For Richter Belmont, i would've normally given him Divine Bloodlines, but i'm saving this for Maria Renard, to which she'll come at a later date. So what theme would be best fit for him? The unused music from Castlevania: Rondo of Blood, Cross Your Heart, of course. For that music in mind, it was originally first heard in the tough and impossible as hell arcade game, Haunted Castle, although the unused version, as heard on the soundtrack of Rondo of Blood is more kickass than anything that i've ever heard. So that theme is perfect for Richter Belmont.
As for Zero's music theme, i've chosen something that would make him real awesome more than anything else, not to mention that he's been more of a loner in recent X games (including Command Mission). The song in mind? I Stand Alone, as performed by the american rock band, Godsmack. That song was nominated twice in the Grammy Awards, although it didn't win anything. But it was also heard in the movie The Scorpion King (which starred Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in it), as well as on the single album for the movie, as well as on their 3rd album, Faceless. Anyway, i thought that this song would fit Zero well, since he's mostly a loner sometimes.
Now, this is another one that my good friend will enjoy seeing, since he told me that he was looking forward on seeing Richter Belmont too. Now, i got to finish the one with Shanoa and Axl on it as well.

Anyway, thanks for the fave on that one.

indeed, and I am starting to feel bad for these castlevania characters, they might be powerful warriors (and I do like the non 3d castlevania games) but this is way out of their league, going up against a reploid, not very smart on their part is it? now if they were to team up, maybe, but in the mean time, I have 45 dollars that says zero can take in in under 2 minutes, any takers???
by the way, which is your fave castlevania characters? mine are alucard, and shanoa (the latter i wish there was more art for here at da) anyway keep up the awesome work my hardcore gaming friend!~

Oh, i dunno, Brent.
Reploids do look powerful indeed, but even they can have weaknesses against normal humans like the Castlevania vampire hunters, man.
Anyway, thanks.

Ah, Richter Belmont from Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night.
Sadly, Richtor would be the last Belmont to star in a Castlevania game(no thanks to the son-of-a-bitch head of Project Castlevania Koji Igarashi.)

Well, there were other Belmonts to be featured in some other Castlevania games, like Leon Belmont in... well, i don't remember the subtitle of it, although it was in an M-Rated Castlevania game, that i do know.
Anyway, thanks for the fave on that one.

Leon Belmont(the First Belmont) starred in Castlevania: Lament of innocence-PS2. But what really makes Castlevania fans(including me) hate Koji Igarashi so much is because of what he did to Sonia Belmont of GBC's Castlevania Legends.
I could go and on lamenting all the things that Koji has done to that once great franchise. He has taken the Belmonts(and their iconic Vampire Killer Whip) out of the franchise completely. In fact, in a recent interview with ign.com, he has stated that there will be NO MORE BELMONTS in any future Castlevania games. That Son-of-a-bitch is killing the Castlevania franchise and what's worse is that Konami is letting him do it.

Well, if they don't fight against one another too much, they might make a good team, Donald. But in either case, Richter and Zero are awesome characters. I had fun drawing those two.
Oh, and thanks for the fave on that one, man.
