Her heart beat within her chest heavily. Did she really just suggest to the rest of the team that she and Beast boy were heading out on the town?….alone?…together? Luckily for her, no one suspected any semblance of romance between the two. It seemed like the only one thinking this outing was like a date…was herself. Here she was, walking down into the garage with Beast Boy leading her to his trusty moped. “What was I thinking?” She thought to herself.

Earlier, Starfire wanted to take Raven to the dreaded mall. Raven saw Beast Boy, and took her opportunity. He was a way out, and in front of everyone, she insisted that Beast Boy had invited her out to run errands. Cyborg’s jaw dropped, Robin cocked an eyebrow, and Starfire just stared blankly. Raven dared not look at Beastboy’s reaction, but she knew he must have thought she was insane.
“Uhh..wh-” Beastboy began to question, before Raven quickly jabbed him in the side.
“He was talking all day about this thing he had to show me in town or else I would be forced to play his videogames again” Raven thought on the spot. The rest of the team just stared blankly, almost in disbelief. Raven began to sweat nervously.
“Friend Raven,” Starfire implored. “This is quite odd. You have never once agreed to run the errands with Beast Boy.”
Raven shrank and blushed hotly. The others hadn’t really noticed, but the poor girl had fallen for him recently. Raven couldn’t believe she used beastboy as an excuse not to go to the mall. Why couldn’t she have been more clever? Why had she not mentioned a ritual or meditation? Stupid! So Stupid! All she could think of was beast boy…Every day, every night, she couldn’t escape how deeply she fell for him.
Before Raven could reply to Starfire, Beastboy, to Raven’s surprise, spoke up for her.
“Yeah, But this time it’s different!” Beastboy suddenly said. Raven turned to look up at him.

“She kinda HAS to run errands with me.” Beastboy said, putting his hands on his hips. “Or else, she’ll have to play the online tournament for ‘brawling monkey racers’ with me allllllllllll weekend long!” He nodded his head and Raven quickly went along with it.
“A….a fate worse than death.” Raven nearly whimpered. Starfire, Cyborg, and Robin paused for a moment while Raven awaited their response with baited breath. Starfire finally sighed and put down her purse.
“I see.” Starfire said. “Perhaps later this weekend we can go to the mall!” she smiled sweetly back at them. Raven let out her held in anxiety with a big sigh. Looks like they took their story.

Raven and Beastboy made it to the garage and walked over to the green moped. He had acquired it some time last year, and everyone knew it was his baby. Beastboy began to check the tire pressure in the moped and meticulously inspect his ride just like he always did before taking it out for a spin. Raven stood silently in her casual wear, watching him ready their ride.
“W…why did you stick up for me back there?” Raven suddenly asked him. Beastboy kept inspecting his vehicle but replied almost immediately.
“Well, I know how crazy Starfire’s mall trips can get.” He said smiling. “And I know they’re really not your thing, so I thought I’d help you out!”
God, has he always been this considerate of her? Her heart thumped loudly as she leaned against the wall.

“Thanks.” She said quietly.
Finally, Beastboy turned around to her and twirled the keys to his moped around on his finger.
“Alright, Rae.” He said. “Let’s head out on the town! Where do you wanna go first?”
“…I don’t care, just…anywhere but here.” Raven replied. Beastboy smiled brightly and hopped on his moped. Raven hesitantly followed suit and sat behind him.
“Hold onto me.”
Raven’s cheeks flushed as she hesitantly complied. She slowly wrapped her arms around his torso. Raven was pleasantly surprised at his warmth and just how good he felt in her arms. This feeling didn’t linger for long, for half a second later, Beastboy revved his engine and took off at the speed of light.
What had Raven gotten herself into she wondered?
