Okay, but the explained joke isn't funny:
Gordon have some sort of dimensional case for his weapons and ammos, so he can have his arsenal. As for Adrian... we never saw that he has this device too and it won't make sense - he's not a scientist and he has no H.E.V., so, logically, he doesn't have this container, that was invented by scientists and mounted on H.E.V. Although he does have A LOT of weapons...

Gordon has some sort of "magic" container with his HEV. You see it in his hands here. As for Shepard - Gerabox did nothing like that, so I assume he is just extremely strong.
