What an unspeakably pretty piece of work! It's absolutely captivating.
Perhaps she is saddened because her mortal "charge" is somehow a disappointment. Or perhaps the angel is forlorn because her love for a mortal - and a woman at that - presents an insoluble dilemma for her. This piece is rich with possibilities for a thinking person.
It's so refreshing to "meet" someone else who tries to speak with their art. I hope you have more success at reaching people here than I.
